Everything you enter is saved only on this device, in this browser. It is never sent anywhere. That keeps it private, but it also means that if this browser's data is cleared, the phone is reset, or the app is uninstalled, the information is gone — and nobody, including us, can get it back.
A backup file is your safety net. Save one now and then. The file stays on your device (or wherever you choose to keep it).

The short version. What you enter into Guardian Helper stays on your own device. We don't have accounts, we don't collect your entries, and we can't see them or recover them for you.
What we collect. Nothing you type into the app is sent to us. We don't ask for your name, birthdate, bank details, or address. The names, bills, appointments, amounts and notes you enter are saved only in your browser's storage on the device you use.
Your responsibility for your data. Because nothing is stored on our servers, we cannot restore information that is lost. It can be lost if you clear your browser data, reset or replace your phone, or uninstall the app. Use Backup & restore to save a backup file regularly and keep it somewhere safe. Backup files contain everything you entered, so protect them like any private document.
Other people's information. If you enter information about the people you care for, you are responsible for handling it appropriately and for having the right to keep it. Anyone who can unlock your device can see what is in the app.
Technical information. Like any website, the service that hosts guardianhelper.com (Netlify) may record technical details such as your IP address and the time of your visit in its standard server logs. The app also loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google when the app opens. These requests do not include anything you enter in the app.
Selling and sharing. We do not sell your information or share it with advertisers. We don't have your entries to share.
Deleting your data. To delete everything, clear this site's data in your browser settings, or remove the app from your home screen and clear its storage. Deleted data cannot be recovered unless you saved a backup file. Delete any backup files yourself, since they are stored wherever you saved them.
Not professional advice. Guardian Helper is an organizing tool. It is not legal, financial, tax, or medical advice, and it does not replace the records or reports a court, agency, or organization requires. Please check any report or total before you submit it.
Use at your own risk. The app is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep it working, but we are not liable for lost data, errors in totals, missed reminders or due dates, or decisions made using the app.
Changes. We may update this policy as the app changes, and the date above will change when we do. If a future version adds accounts or notifications that involve sending information to a server, we will update this policy before it takes effect.

Why this exists. Being a guardian isn't a paid job. Most guardians are caring for someone they love while also working full-time, with no organization behind them and no state pay for the hours it takes — appointments, bills, reviews, groceries, and the paperwork that comes with all of it. Guardian Helper was built to take some of that load off your plate, so keeping track of everything takes minutes instead of hours.
Built for more than one person. Many guardians care for more than one person at a time. Guardian Helper lets you keep each person's bills, appointments, reviews, and supplies separate, all in one place, so nothing gets mixed up.
Reporting made easier. The Reports tab is there to help you put together the spending and income summaries that organizations like Food Share or Social Security ask for, so you're not digging through months of receipts by hand.
Your privacy. This app doesn't ask for personal details like your birthdate, bank information, or home address. The only thing it ever asks for is an email address, and only if you want notifications. Everything you enter is stored only on your own device — it is not sent to us or anyone else. Nothing you enter is sold to third parties, and this app is not open source. Because it lives only on your device, use Backup & restore (bottom of the page) to keep a copy.
About the subscription. Guardian Helper is a tool, not a product built to make money. There's a small subscription fee to keep it running, kept as low as possible, because that was never the point of building this.
